"Hope your Christmas is as warm and sweet as a hot cup of cocoa and filled with more granted wishes then you can count"
I’ve been looking forward for today to come for a few weeks now. Because about two weeks ago my mother and I were talking to her cousin about the Christmas Advent Calendar tradition I wanted starting. She became so excited that she wanted to be apart one of the activities.
My mother and I were so happy to welcome her in partaking with us in (celebrating) advent calendar. At the same moment my mom and I though that a Friday night would be a good day to have her over. And the first Friday of the advent calendar it was Hot Cocoa and Churros. She was so excited to come over and spend some time together during the holiday season, that she asked if her mom and sister would be able to come as well. My mom said “Of course! All of you are welcome, the more the merrier”
Today is the day for my mom and I to host her cousins and aunt to participate
with our day seven advent calendar activity.
I new I wanted to make a thick cocoa that wasn’t to sweet and vegan friendly. And fluffy churros with a slightly heavy dusting of cinnamon. I’ve included the recipes for both recipes below.
They arrived kinda early but everything was ready. I was just in the middle of finishing to fry the churros. When everything was ready, we served a really fun and festive spread. We had the cocoa, the churros, some cool-whip, blackberries and raspberries. Everything was perfect! The food was great, the conversation was great and the best part for me was at the end of the night everyone was left joyful and calm. It was an easy low maintenance night, just as every family get together should feel like. It was as if all the stars were aligned and nothing was out of place.
I truly wish all of you are creating wonderful memories with your loved ones this holiday season. And if you are I would love to hear those memories, leave them below in the comments.
